Charlie Cook
Oil painter - Workshop Facilitator - Curator
Charlie Cook creates oil paintings to explore the extent to which the human body can interact sensorily with space within memory: embracing loose, faded imagery to depict far-away recollections.
His work is primarily concerned with capturing the inconsistencies and imperfections of memory, portraying these imperfections as-is.
By combining loose depictions of both the human form and physical space in these evocations, his work considers the transgender body as it ages and its relationship with memories of pre-transition.
